Miss Beth!!!

"Miss Beth, I lost my math book," nine year old Terrell told me this morning, looking quite perplexed.

"Well, do you think it ran away, or was it kidnapped or eaten?" I nonchalantly asked. My fourteen 7 - 10 year old kids often lose their workbooks, and Math workbooks are a particularly slippery.

Terrell, face lit up. "Eaten!? Yes, someone ate it!"

"Oh, Class, who ate Terrell's Math book?"

Fourteen eager faces look up from their work, some of the girls giggle and the boys stay in a gapped tooth grim. But then the new student, a blond hair, blue eyes baby face boy looks serious (expect for the mischievous twinkle in his eyes). "Miss Beth, I ate it." And his peers burst in to a roar.

"And, sir, why did you eat poor Terrell's Math book? Don't you know he love working in that especially? Why didn't you eat his Creative Writing?" (none of these boys like that subject).

"Oh, the words make me choke and the writing gives me a stomachache... the numbers are sweet and filling".

Now, do you know why I failed my practical? I love teaching!

Yeah Kathryn I was gone, but I am back with wittier post than ever!

I was wondering about that. The little boy does seem sorta small. He might have a math book deficiency.... What do you think I can do Canny?

Ha ha! Having fun aren't we.

Heading down that side pretty soon. I'll try to make it on a weekend so you can't say you didn't have time to chat.

lol! I didn't realize you were a teacher! Such a sweet story. It's always nice to hear about someone who is passionate about their work.

Great kids!

Passionate? Gurl, I was born to do this. Before I went to teacher's college I was making some serious dough working at a resort. It was nice but not me... I played PE with the kids to day and we had a blast!
