Little Girls

I work with a young girl. She is about 14 years old and has a beautiful smile. She comes from the village and dropped out of school because is is fourteen and hasn't finished standard six yet. That makes me angry, but I know that it is a reality. She would want to got to school but because she failed so many times her parents are not willing to continue to send her to school. It hurts me to see because I know that it is not her fault she failed so many times (at least three times) because she is smart. The village school systems are very poor. The teachers are untrained and unlearned, there is little resources to use at the school, and no one seems to care that one little girl is continuing the cycle of ignorance. I tell her that she has a choice to make her life what she wants and that if she works hard like she is for the Lord, and makes good choices she will do well in life. She might even get a good job at the store. But in my heart I am worried that a half drunk half crazy old man will catch her eye and she will become like so many rural, ignorant women...

Why am I a private school teacher?

That is an interesting idea... but maybe somethings that shouldn't happen are allowed to happen because of the hardness of our hearts...

Just a thought, not a theology...

Because beth's community school is not a reality yet... I am just a lowly teacher at a private school...

hey, you don't know about my dream! Why are you talking about it as though you do?

That happens cause the lack of education is not the girls fault sometimes interest with parents, community, government, education, church, inspiration and help from someone...

My parents have always try help kids like that with problems cause they have been trough the same my mom always tells me her stories she had to work and study as a kid. Sell tamales and my dad sale newspaper and so on until life became better for them. Thanks to them i don't have trough pass trough what they did. But if some one like you Beth help hers try to get a scholarship or make her work or something (church, a par time job, government just ideas, parents)try to use the resources as much as you can and tell her if she gets the chance study hard ... cause life is about opportunities and you have to catch them as soon as you see them if you like them.

I know you want to help Beth... i will pray to see what happens but just like her there millions but you can make the difference with her once you help someone, someone or God will help you.

Hope this comments give you ideas. Wish you the best! Talk to my dad or miss Juanita or to someone that can help you.
